New ways to connect with a waiting audience during Levels 3 and 4 of lockdown

Trade Me Property listings with video and 3D tours have always attracted more views than those without any kind of multimedia content (25-30% higher*). 

During the COVID-19 lockdown, listings with these valuable features are seeing further engagement, with proportionally higher listing views compared to listings marketed without multimedia content (up to 65% higher^).

In light of the current ban on private viewings and open homes, Trade Me Property has introduced two things to help continue conversations between agents and their clients. 

Firstly, we launched a “Request a Viewing” button last week^^, available to Residential For Sale, New Homes, and Lifestyle listings and secondly, for any property listings marketed with video and 3D tours, we’ve highlighted these listings really clearly within our search results onsite.

Agents and Vendors that include either video or 3D tours, or a combination of both within their listings, will be rewarded by attracting closer attention to their properties.

This will be especially important at the moment but given the strong interest in the run up to lockdown, we are predicting you’ll find potential buyers take up the “Request a Viewing” feature with enthusiasm. Property seekers will be using it to make contact with agents and to request viewings for the future. 

We expect that this may provide you with additional leads and you’ll be able to run buyers through virtual viewings or video walkthroughs via phone or video conference. 

This feature will act in much the same way as the existing 'Email agent' feature, but will give prospective buyers a more direct avenue for enquiring about viewing options. It’ll also give you a chance to find out where they are in the buying process, allowing you to provide them with valuable advice on the market and their requirements. 

   

The more adept you are at helping buyers with home viewing technology, the better

Eventually when restrictions lift and we transition down the levels to a more normal life, buyers and sellers are likely to be cautious about returning to viewing and showing homes “in the flesh” - sellers may challenge large numbers going through the house in an open home any time soon, for instance, which is where the “request a viewing” feature may help to schedule viewings.
